Done ll Self Para

ooc: Basically, I had to write this for my own mental health. Luna needed to stand up to her parents, and it would drive me crazy if she didn’t. So basically, this is set three months later and yeah. Feel free to ignore it, because it’s long and emotional and not really high-quality, but I wasn’t going to be able to write Aaron’s until this was up.

The beginning of a rebellion || Self-Para

Unlike her peers, who may have spent their final hours together on the plane saying goodbye, Luna was fast asleep. Seeing as her fear of heights would either leave her (a) worrying about everything that could go wrong during the trip, or once they arrived, or (b) sleeping in the seat closet to the aisle, praying she wouldn’t wake up. She didn’t want to wake up, and talk to Oliver again, because the two had said their goodbyes, and Luna wanted to leave it at that, as not to mess anything up. Plus, knowing the brunette, she would have ended up crying, which was the last thing she needed before seeing her mother. Not only would it mess up the regulation make up Snow expected, but her mother would interrogate her for Disney knows how long about it. Asking her “What’s wrong?” and “Why so glum?” when Luna knew she honestly didn’t care.

The plane eventually landed, and Luna was woken by the stop of the flight. Standing from her seat, she quickly got off the plane, as not to keep those who were genuinely excited to see their parents waiting any longer. While they group went over a few of the procedures they had become accustomed to during their travels, she quickly went over her appearance, mental and physical. Luna straighten out her dress, the same pale blue one that had mocked her all day, and secured a few hanging bobby pins that were holding up her hair. She sighed, and went over how she would greet her parents. She had come to one with the fact that there was nothing she could say to truly please them a long time ago, but she could still try. She’d please her parents, with the already prepared story about her and a prince, and how he was the only boy she was interested in. Or how she had spent her time studying, and making polite conversation, instead of socializing and other activities Snow would classify under “embarrassing”. Maybe it was lying, but if Luna had told them about Oliver, and how she let her quirks shine, and made friends from all social classes, her parents would surely be furious. So she would refrain, and revert back to her bookish ways.

She slowly walked through the terminal, watching other families’ reunions, and slightly envying them. Her peers all seemed so thrilled to be back with their parents, yet Luna was dreading it. She knew if she had thrown her arms around either of her parents in a hug, they surely would either rejected it, or awkwardly accept it, advising her to refrain from doing it again once they got home. So instead, she searched for her older brother, knowing having Carter with her would help somehow, like it usually did.

As Luna found her parents, who were speaking with a few friends, her heart dropped. Even on the day their two oldest children were returning from fleeing at war time, they couldn’t pause from being the perfect socialites they were. She inwardly rolled her eyes, and moved on to Xavier, who her parents had probably forced along with them. The younger boy had the same crooked smile fixed to his lips as he did when she left, and Luna couldn’t help but grin. She pulled her brother into a hug, and instead of him pushing her off, or groaning, as the brunette had expected, Xavier returned the hug. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” she whispered to the dark haired boy, trying not to draw their parents attention. “How’ve things been?”

“Oh, you know Mother and Father. It’s been fun as always.” Xavier informed his sister.

“Poor thing. Earth is nice, but I spent a majority of my time worrying over you.” she told him, before she remembered her uncles, another main concern while she was away. “Please say our are uncles okay. They’re okay, right?” she asked nervously. She hated the idea of something happening to any of them, for she saw them as family more than she did her parents.

“Calm down, sister dear. They’re all right. All 7.” he tried to calm the older girl.

“Thank Disney.” she sighed in relief. And after the short exchange between the two, Snow and Richard realized their daughter had joined the group.

“Luna, darling! How wonderful it is to see you again!” Snow’s sickeningly sweet voice rang through the lobby as she lightly wrapped her arms around the young girl.

“As to you, Mother, Father.” she said, weakly returning the hug, and curtsying towards her father. The older woman pulled herself off her daughter. And soon, Carter joined the group, and the Whites stood, making polite conversation, sounding more like new acquaintances then a reunited family.

As the group left the airport, Snow and Richard leading their three children, who were lined up side-by-side, arms ore each other’s shoulders, Luna caught a glimpse of Oliver. And for the brief moment they locked eyes, she waved, not knowing Snow was watching. And not only was she watching, but she was surveying the dark haired boys parents. “Who was that?” Snow asked her daughter as they left the airport.

Luna looked at her mother, and smiled. “Oliver. He’s a close friend of mine.” she said sweetly. And though it may not have been obvious, the comment irked the older woman.

“And his parents are?” Snow asked, trying to appear cheery as always.

“Hercules and Megara, I believe are their names. His father is a god, and his mother was a servant.” Luna explained, returning the fake smile.

“I see.” was all Snow said in response.

And although this conversation may not have seemed too major, little did the group know, it was the beginning of Luna’s rebellion against the royal family she called her own.
